A woman standing on a rail with her arms spread out looking over mountains.

I’m a sucker for all things Midwest. This is my home. I’ve lived in rural Iowa most of my life. I couldn’t imagine being happy anywhere else.

When I started getting serious about publishing work, one of the magazines that really stood out was Flyover Country Literary Magazine. They publish “place-based, lyrical writing that captures life between the coasts.” That sounded like exactly my kind of magazine. And it is. It’s the only site in my RSS feed that automatically gets a click when new content is published.

That’s why I was especially thrilled to get an e-mail in response to a submission I made a few months ago. I’m happy to say that on the Ides of March, 2024 (Friday, March 15th, 2024) you will be able to find my flash non-fiction story, Learning to Ride, on Flyover Country.

Head over to their site and subscribe to updates so you don’t miss it!
